Useful to know

The white-banded mockingbird is a talented mimic, weaving the calls of many other birds into its rich, varied song. It is conspicuous in flight thanks to a bold white wing patch and white outer tail feathers. During the austral winter some populations move northward, turning up beyond their breeding grounds. It adapts well to human-modified landscapes, frequenting pastures, hedgerows, and urban parks.
