The grey sibia is a species of bird in the family Leiothrichidae.
Region
Southeast Asia and southern China
Typical Environment
The grey sibia inhabits subtropical to montane evergreen and mixed forests, often at forest edges, along ridgelines, and in mature secondary growth. It keeps mainly to the mid to upper canopy where it moves methodically through foliage. The species is typically associated with broadleaf evergreen forest but also uses patches of bamboo, rhododendron, and forest clearings with tall shrubs. It occurs locally from southern China into the mountains of Indochina, where suitable high-elevation habitat persists.

Ease of Keeping
Beginner friendly: 2/5
The grey sibia is a slender, long-tailed member of the laughingthrush family (Leiothrichidae) that favors cool, moist montane forests. It often joins mixed-species foraging flocks, staying high in the canopy and keeping contact with thin, whistled calls. Its fairly uniform grey plumage and graceful movements help distinguish it from the more contrasty long-tailed sibia.
