The Fernando Po speirops, also known as the Bioko speirops, is a species of bird in the family Zosteropidae. It is endemic to Bioko Island in Equatorial Guinea.
Region
Gulf of Guinea (Bioko Island)
Typical Environment
Occurs in montane and submontane forests of Bioko, favoring humid, mossy cloud forest and mature secondary growth. It frequents forest edges, clearings with tall trees, and occasionally well-wooded gardens near suitable habitat. The species forages mainly in the mid to upper canopy but will descend to the shrub layer when food is abundant. It is more regularly encountered at higher elevations where intact forest persists.

Also called the Bioko speirops, this small white-eye is confined to Bioko Island (formerly Fernando Pó) in Equatorial Guinea. It forages actively in the canopy and forest edges, often joining mixed-species flocks. Like many white-eyes, it takes small insects as well as fruits and nectar, making it an important seed disperser and pollinator. Its restricted range makes it sensitive to habitat change.
