The Santarém parakeet, also known as Hellmayr's parakeet or in aviculture as Hellmayr's conure or the Santarém conure, is a species of parrot in the family Psittacidae. It is found in the eastern and central sections of the Amazon basin south of the Amazon River, only just extending onto the northern bank of this river.

Typical Environment
Occurs in the eastern and central Amazon south of the Amazon River, with a slight extension onto the north bank near the river’s mouth. It inhabits lowland terra firme and várzea forests, forest edges, and secondary growth. Birds regularly use riverine woodlands and forest mosaics near clearings and small farms. They are most often seen in the mid-story to canopy, commuting between fruiting trees and roost sites.
