Useful to know

Lucy's warbler is one of only two New World warblers that routinely nest in cavities, using old woodpecker holes, natural crevices, or even nest boxes and gourds. It breeds in desert riparian habitats and mesquite bosques of the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico, then winters along Mexico’s Pacific slope. The species is highly adaptive in nest-site selection within dry environments but is sensitive to the loss of riparian vegetation.
